Welcome to WCS Eighth Grade Ancient History!
Welcome to the Ancient World! In this eighth grade class we will travel through time and space to experience history through the eyes of our ancestors. With our hard hats on, we will cyber travel to the prehistoric painted caves in France and Spain - and paint our own prehistoric petroglyphs - to begin our study of prehistory. Through our archaeology unit we will learn to infer and evaluate evidence as we create our own imaginary civilizations - and unearth those of other students. As we decide what makes a society a civilization, we will explore the early civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, and the Indus Valley through hands-on and electronic projects. Our study of ancient Greece and Rome includes a Mock Trial of Socrates and a Fake Facebook of ancient Romans.
